Arts in Action VAP Fine Arts Summer Camp - Session 3

Angela Tripi-Weiss, cited as the best art program developer in Susan Manzell's book, "How To Get your Child an Excellent Education in NYC", is a three time Blackboard award winning artist, educator, teacher trainer and curriculum/program developer. She leads Arts in Action VAP, with a focus on the development of children’s voices through fine arts. Her unique, progressive fine arts curriculum for Arts in Action Visual Art Program teaches young art students an age-appropriate visual art language that is sequentially structured and skills based.

AM Camp

AIAVAP’s AM Morning Art Camp takes place in our sunny UWS Manhattan studio, During each 2-week session, campers will design and create their very own multi-medium work of art.

Their compositions will be inspired by their own stories, as well as a variety of art making techniques utilized by artist spanning ancient times through contemporary times!

Campers will learn drawing and painting skills while designing their concept draft, then will learn some of the many other art making methods such as collage, applique, fabric painting, dying, block printing, wearable art and more!

Note: Campers enrolled for PM Fine Arts Camp must bring a cold, nut oil and sugar free lunch.

PM Camp

Afternoon Fine Arts Camp takes place in our sunny UWS Manhattan studio. Each session includes bi-weekly trips to the Metropolitan Museum of Art where campers will quided through viewing fine art spanning ancient through contemporary art. Campers will discuss, sketch and be inspired by the master artworks on view! Back in the studio, campers will create their own works of art while learning age appropriate skills, and techniques that professional artists employ in their art. Skills taught include drawing, and color theory painting in a variety of mediums, as well as hand build sculpting.

Since our studio is only 2 blocks away from Central Park, we might include supervised outdoor there sketching weather permitting.

All skills level are welcome, ages 5 and up, Campers will be grouped according to age, and ability levels. We keep our camp size small so we can address every camp's needs.

Teen Portfolio: We also offer Teen portfolio level art instruction during afternoon fine art camp. Teen camp is open to all skill levels!

All camp sessions are two weeks long EXCEPT session 4 which is one week only.
